About Me
Hello! I'm Heather Wilson (she/her), a licensed psychologist-master. My career in community mental health began in 2003, following the completion of my bachelor's degree in psychology. I earned a master's degree in clinical psychology in 2009 and subsequently started clinical work.
I have conducted diagnostic assessments and provided therapy to individual adults and families with young children. Prior to establishing my private practice, I supervised community mental health services, including outpatient therapy and intake assessments. I also supervised early career therapists pursuing licensure and graduate interns.
I assist clients dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, family conflicts, parenting challenges, and pregnancy/postpartum concerns. Recognizing that each individual's journey is unique and treatment is not “one size fits all,” I integrate various therapeutic approaches to tailor treatment effectively. Collaboratively, I help clients develop coping skills, improve communication, strengthen relationships, and process painful or challenging life experiences.
I believe mental health is supported through personalized daily practices of habits, actions and behaviors. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe place where you can reflect on the past, address present challenges, and discover pathways to a happier and healthier life.
My training includes: Postpartum Support International, Mothers & Babies, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness.
When not working, I enjoy long dinners with my family, walking my dogs, reading, gardening, performing in theatre, singing, staying active, getting outside and traveling.
