About Me
Hello! I'm Heather Wilson (she/her), a licensed Psychologist-Master. My career in community mental health began in 2003, following the completion of my bachelor's degree in psychology. I earned a master's degree in clinical psychology in 2009 and subsequently started clinical work.
I have conducted diagnostic assessments and provided therapy to individual adults and families with young children. Prior to establishing my private practice, I supervised community mental health services, including outpatient therapy and intake assessments. I also supervised early career therapists pursuing licensure and graduate interns.
I assist individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, family conflicts, parenting challenges, and pregnancy/postpartum concerns. Recognizing that each person’s journey is unique and treatment is not “one size fits all,” I integrate various therapeutic approaches to tailor treatment effectively. Collaboratively, I help clients develop coping skills, improve communication, strengthen relationships, and process painful or challenging life experiences.
I believe mental health is supported through personalized daily practices of habits, actions and behaviors. My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe place where you can reflect on the past, address present challenges, and discover pathways to a happier and healthier life.
My training includes: Postpartum Support International, Mothers & Babies, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality, cognitive behavioral therapy, play therapy, psychodynamic therapy and mindfulness.
When not working, I enjoy long dinners with my family, walking my dogs, reading, gardening, performing in theatre, singing, staying active, getting outside and traveling.
